Resilient digital and operational systems
Cybersecurity, trusted identity, protected workflows, sensing, interoperability, communications, auditability, and responsible automation.
Security research →Research & Innovation
Unity’s research model turns long-range ideas into structured programs with defined maturity, evidence, validation, and clear public claims.
Research Model
Research and development is a core Unity function. The company can investigate advanced concepts while using readiness stages to keep public information accurate and to make funding, partnerships, engineering review, and commercialization easier to manage.
A problem, opportunity, hypothesis, or design direction has been defined but not yet demonstrated.
Requirements, prior work, modeling, feasibility, risks, and candidate approaches are being studied.
A working implementation, model, simulation, or physical prototype exists for controlled evaluation.
Performance, safety, security, reliability, usability, or engineering assumptions are being tested against defined criteria.
A limited real-world or partner evaluation is used to learn before broader release or deployment.
A product, service, publication, or capability has an approved public route and supportable availability claim.
Research Frontiers
Cybersecurity, trusted identity, protected workflows, sensing, interoperability, communications, auditability, and responsible automation.
Security research →Propulsion, navigation, orbital infrastructure, power, communications, habitation, life support, and long-duration mission concepts.
Space research →Sustainable housing, energy, water, smart infrastructure, resource efficiency, environmental technology, and resilient communities.
Living research →Cross-platform applications, secure collaboration, project operations, commerce, data organization, administrative systems, and user-centered interfaces.
Software portfolio →Requirements, interfaces, risk, lifecycle planning, verification, human factors, and systems integration across multidisciplinary programs.
Technology overview →Research notes, project records, public reports, test results, and approved updates should provide traceable support for externally visible statements.
Documents & resources →R&D Principle
Unity can pursue difficult long-range work while clearly identifying what is theoretical, what has been simulated, what has been built, what has been tested, and what is actually available. That distinction protects credibility and helps partners understand exactly where they can contribute.
Claims should be tied to source material, test data, approved records, or clearly labeled projections.
Each program should have accountable owners, reviewers, and publication authority.
Use status labels so research, prototypes, pilots, and released products are not confused.
Universities, companies, research institutions, suppliers, and other approved organizations can extend capability where appropriate.
Unity’s Projects & Programs area tracks public program descriptions and owner-published project records. Use the partnership route for academic, technical, commercial, or institutional collaboration.
