Terms

Terms of Use

Rules for using Unity's website, portal, Website Studio, software, marketplace, store, downloads, and accounts.

Legal & TrustLegal OverviewPrivacy PolicyTerms of UseCookie & Storage NoticeSecurityReturns & RefundsShippingAccessibilityPrivacy Requests
Effective August 26, 2026Version 1.0
These Terms govern access to Unity's public website, authenticated portal, Website Studio, marketplace, store, and Unity-controlled download routes. Product-specific license terms or third-party provider terms may also apply.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using a Unity service, you agree to these Terms and any additional terms presented for a specific product, purchase, subscription, portal, or download. If you use Unity on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept applicable terms for that organization.

2. Accounts and authorized access

  • Provide accurate account information and keep credentials and MFA factors under your control.
  • Do not share an account in a way that defeats role, device, page-scope, or organizational access controls.
  • Notify Unity promptly if you believe an account, authenticator, or authorized device has been compromised.
  • Unity may require email verification, MFA, recent sign-in, or reauthentication before sensitive actions.
  • Access to employee, partner, investor, supporter, board, government, Website Manager, Software Head, or Site Admin areas is limited to expressly authorized users.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use Unity services to:

  • access data, accounts, systems, pages, APIs, releases, or administrative functions you are not authorized to access;
  • bypass authentication, MFA, page scopes, rate limits, release controls, payment controls, or other security measures;
  • introduce malware, destructive code, automated abuse, credential attacks, scraping that materially degrades the service, or fraudulent transactions;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent authority to act for an organization;
  • violate law, third-party rights, export/sanctions requirements, or applicable contractual restrictions;
  • copy, reverse engineer, redistribute, or exploit software except as expressly allowed by applicable license terms or law.

4. Website Studio and privileged access

Website Studio, software-release tools, security administration, and similar privileged functions are provided only to authorized personnel. Draft, review, publish, rollback, release, catalog, and account-security actions may be logged. Users must not publish content they do not have authority to publish or intentionally circumvent approval and scope controls.

5. Software and downloads

Software is licensed, not sold, unless a product-specific agreement expressly states otherwise. Product pages may identify supported platforms, versions, commercial preview status, subscription terms, or separate license terms. You are responsible for checking compatibility and maintaining appropriate backups before installation or update.

Do not treat preview, beta, prototype, demonstration, or research functionality as suitable for life-safety, emergency, regulated, classified, or mission-critical use unless a separate written agreement expressly approves that use.

6. Marketplace, subscriptions, and payments

Prices and availability may change before an order is accepted. Payment processing may be provided by Stripe or another approved processor. An order is accepted when the applicable checkout/payment flow confirms the transaction and Unity or the applicable provider issues an order confirmation.

Subscription terms presented at checkout control the billing interval and renewal price. Unless the checkout terms state otherwise, subscriptions continue until canceled. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically create a refund for a completed billing period. See Returns & Refunds.

7. Physical goods and third-party fulfillment

Some merchandise may be fulfilled or sold through third-party provider storefronts. When a third party is the merchant or fulfillment provider, its checkout, shipping, return, inventory, customization, and payment terms may also apply. Unity does not claim a partnership, reseller authorization, or live inventory relationship merely because a possible provider is referenced on the website.

8. Intellectual property

Unity's website design, text, graphics, software, marks, and other Unity-created materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership. Third-party names, trademarks, software, and services remain the property of their respective owners.

9. User submissions and feedback

You retain ownership of content you own and submit. You grant Unity the limited rights reasonably necessary to host, process, transmit, review, and use that content to provide the requested service. If you voluntarily submit general product feedback or suggestions without a separate confidentiality agreement, Unity may use that feedback to improve products without an obligation to compensate you.

10. Security research

Good-faith vulnerability reports are welcome under the Security page. That page does not authorize destructive testing, denial of service, access to other users' data, social engineering, physical intrusion, or testing of third-party systems.

11. Availability and changes

Unity may modify, suspend, replace, or discontinue features as products evolve. We may install or require security updates, revoke compromised sessions, block abusive requests, or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to protect users or systems.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and services are provided on an “as available” basis. Unity does not promise that every feature will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or suitable for a user's specific purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unity will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or services where such limitations are legally enforceable. Any monetary limitation stated in a product-specific contract or checkout agreement controls for that product. These Terms do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

14. Suspension and termination

Unity may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security risk, fraud, unlawful conduct, expired authorization, nonpayment, or when an organization removes a user's access. Where appropriate, users may be given an opportunity to resolve an issue before termination.

15. Governing law

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any mandatory consumer protections or venue rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected.

16. Changes and contact

Unity may update these Terms as services change. The effective date identifies the current version. Questions may be submitted through the contact page.
